Did you turn on your Xbox 360 this morning immediately after waking up, just to see if Microsoft’s super-sized dashboard update had arrived? It hadn’t, and it still hasn’t. There’s apparently a reason too, but Microsoft isn’t saying what that is yet. The delay is confirmed though, by Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb himself.
"FYI: The timing for the Xbox 360 dashboard update has been slightly delayed," he wrote in a morning tweet. "I’ll havea...

Reports of Skyrim players encountering severe lag, particularly on PlayStation 3, continue to roll in even after the most recent patch was said to resolve those issues. From what we know this stems from the increasingly large size of players’ save game files, a problem that may take a big investment to fix.
Obsidian Entertainment’s Josh Sawyer offered up some thoughts on Skyrim’s technical issues recently in response to questions he received on Formspring. Sawyer works as a project...

With the big Xbox 360 fall dashboard update being released tomorrow, Microsoft has shed some light on when we’ll begin to see the new slate of third-party content providers show up on the system.
Support for several dozen providers was announced in October, although it was unclear exactly when they would be coming. None were given exact release dates with the exception of the UFC app (which allows users to order pay-per-views, watch on-demand content, and more), and that did us little good...

Tomorrow, Microsoft will launch the Xbox 360 dashboard update that made its debut at E3 earlier this year. The improved interface brings enhanced Kinect functionality, Bing search features, a Windows 8-styled layout, cloud saves and more to your console. One such "and more" being streaming video content from a variety of providers.
Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb posted an update yesterday revealing the expected schedule for content launch plans. EPIX and ESPN (among others) will be...

We first heard about Obsidian Entertainment’s South Park RPG last week when Game Informer revealed the focus of its January issue’s cover story. The mag is already going out to subscribers, so it probably won’t surprise you to hear that some key details about the game emerged over the weekend via a NeoGAF poster.
The South Park RPG is built on Obsidian’s Dungeon Siege 3 engine, though it sticks with the TV series’ 2D style of animation. Your player character, a new...

Oh Kinect, we had such high hopes. While you continue to tantalise us with promises of being the ’future of gaming’, and tease us with the potentially-good Kinect functionality in games such as Forza Motorsport 4 and Mass Effect 3, the reality is that a lot of the industry’s Kinect-focused output has been questionable to say the least. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to get drastically better any time soon.
So, in the spirit of poking fun at Kinect’s recent...

This Tuesday marks the official launch of the new Xbox 360 Dashboard, which will bring with it a bevy of new features, including improved Kinect support, a slick new UI, and a ton of new content from myriad providers. We were given a look at the new changes coming on December 6, and were pretty impressed with what we saw.
Kinect users will definitely get the most out of the changes introduced in the update. Nearly every panel, option and menu selection is navigable with using Kinect, either through...
