The ability to rent dedicated Battlefield 3 servers for use in the console versions of the game was a welcome addition back in March. Unfortunately, playing on these servers appears to have become the only option for playing online multiplayer, a development which understandably has fans of the game frustrated with Electronic Arts and DICE.
As outlined in this thread on the official Battlefield forums, many players are upset that EA- and DICE-operated servers have almost entirely disappeared....

Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth is coming out for the Kinect and Wii-U. Ubisoft and Marvel Entertainment announced that they are teaming up to create a game based on the blockbusting superhero tong. The title will feature more than 20 characters from the Marvel universe and is based on the “Secret Invasion” comics, not the film. We don’t know the release date, but it will obviously not be out until after the Nintendo Wii-U launches.
“The idea that we’re making a motion-control...

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes isn’t even here yet, but we’ve already got what appears to be confirmation of the next franchise-pegged LEGO title from TT Games: LEGO The Lord of the Rings. The toy company has been sending out early looks at summer 2012’s physical LEGO LotR sets, and the packaging includes logos for both Warner Bros. and TT Games, MCV reports.
There’s additional evidence as well, in the form of a now-removed product listing — here’s the cached...

BioShock Infinite was among the most anticipated games scheduled for release this fall. It’s still shaping up to be one of the bigger launches of the year, it’s just that year will be next year. Infinite’s release was officially pushed back today from its scheduled date on October 16 until February 26, 2013. The reason for this is said to be because of a goal to make it as great as can be, and while I don’t doubt there is a desire to do that, there may be other factors which...

E3 is now less than a month away, and Microsoft is scheduled to kick things off with its annual press conference on the morning of Monday, June 4. With E3 being a gaming-focused event and Microsoft having already made it clear there will be no talk of a new platform during it, one might expect there to be a big focus on games for the Xbox 360. As the company has shown previously — last year especially — it’s more than happy to spend its time in the spotlight talking up the kinds...

Though no gameplay details were given, EA confirmed a new Need for Speed title is scheduled to launch around the time of Medal of Honor Warfighter in the third fiscal quarter of 2013.
For now we know it’ll be made for console, mobile and PC platforms. With E3 around the corner, it’s likely we’ll hear more details between June 5 and 7.
The most recent Need for Speed title was The Run, which received a rating of 6.5 out of 10 on IGN.

Check it out on the official Microsoft site. Print the coupon and stop by a Microsoft store for the cheapest ever Xbox.
My question: is this kind of subsidized console going to catch on? We did the math, and the ultimate savings over traditional Xbox ownership is about $39 over two years, but the $15-a-month version...

Gaming can be an expensive hobby, particularly if you’re keen on picking up games as they are released. With your typical console game going for $60 at launch and there being no shortage of quality titles to play, those costs can quickly add up, making it difficult to keep up with the latest releases. But there are more factors than merely price which can make gamers hesitant to buy games when they first come out including a perceived lack of value, eventual complete/Game of the Year edition...
