Now if my memory serves me well, there were once reports that the Xbox 360 version of the first Darksiders suffered from screen-tearing, and framerate issues. Publisher Atlus announced that Game of Thrones, a new role-playing game from Cyanide Studios based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy fiction, will launch on May 15 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

This week was not kind to video game publishers. THQ announced plans for 240 lay-offs amidst the board of directors and CEO giving themselves a 50% paycut. Meanwhile, Disney bought a controlling stake in India-based UTV Ignition — a publisher which went through its own set of lay-offs and restructuring last year — for an undisclosed sum after the Indian government approved the deal which had reportedly been in the works since at least last summer. Disney plans to use the firm to expand...

Sony has confirmed it posted a 158 billion yen (approx. GBP 1.3 billion) net loss during its third quarter financial year ended December 31, 2011.

Sales declined 17.4 per cent year-on-year to 1.82 trillion yen (GBP 15 billion), which Sony mainly attributed to “the impact of the floods in Thailand, deterioration in market conditions in developed...
