The company’s chief financial officer, Ro Lloyd, said that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will release at a “lower opening price than they did last cycle.” PS3 was released in the U.S. in November 2006 and came in two flavours: 20GB and 60GB, which cost $499 and $599, respectively. Amazon Germany has posted a listing for the as-yet unannounced Mirror’s Edge 2. The original game was met with luke warm reviews from critics but struck a chord with some gamers, elevating the title to cult status. A sequel has been rumored for some time now, though nothing concrete has ever materialized. The nearest we’ve come to a proper confirmation is from ex. EA Easy Studio general manger, Ben Cousins, who suggested last year that the game was currently in the works at DICE. Still,...

PS4 vs. Xbox One: what will win them the next generation

In the past four years, I have become a gaming nomad. Due to my work overseas, I have not been able to partake in the simple things gaming has to offer. Four years of living in Asia has taught me to appreciate one overlooked, discounted, and hardly talked-about concept. This is the year 2013, not 1993. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be powerful machines with the potential to essentially be mini-PCs. Still, I don`t care about a new graphics chip, better audio, or what new exclusives will be revealed...

The basic principle is using the PlayStation Vita’s touchscreen to draw lines for the...

Call of Duty: Ghosts doesn’t use a brand new engine after all

Infinity Ward has offered clarification on its supposed new game engine Call of Duty: Ghosts, confirming it’s a significantly upgraded piece of tech rather than something built completely from scratch. Reports indicated that Ghosts had been built on an all-new engine, though this was brought into question after footage of the title surfaced at Microsoft’s Xbox One event earlier this week. Speaking with OPM, Zach Volker, Infinity Ward’s animation lead, commented: “When we’re...

Our benchmarks on just the video and audio performance are 8-10 times superior to the current gen,” said Teneja on LinkedIn. “The compute capabilities of these platforms and the data transfer speeds we can now bank on, essentially removes any notion of rationing...
