PS3 Game: Order Up!!

I was actually really surprised when cooking simulators took off the way they did when motion controls entered the scene. Then again, I shouldn’t have been since I know several people who wish they were great chefs just as much as others want to be rock stars or any other fantasy video games offer. Order Up!! introduces a neat twist to the idea – taking the idea of cooking and combining it with the fast-paced life of a cook in a restaurant kitchen. Order Up!! began life as a Wii title,...

The release date of Darksiders 2 has been announced by THQ. You’ll be able to play with Death as he journeys to save his brother’s name on August 14, 2012.  THQ has a lot riding on the success of Darksiders 2, as the company recently layed off a slew off employees and the company’s president took a 50 percent pay cut, signaling to investors a desire to be a lean, more focused company that puts out successful games. THQ also announced that the game’s been pre-ordered...

PS3 Game News: Saints Row 4 Sort Of Confirmed For PS3, Xbox 360, And PC

We learn today, to no one’s great surprise, that Volition, Inc. is working on a fourth Saints Row game, apparently for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms. The sort-of-confirmation comes from a LinkedIn profile for a Volition game designer, as spotted by the gaming Internet’s super-sleuth, Superannuation (via Polygon). The Saints Row 4 shout has since been edited out of the profile. Saints Row: The Third has made big money for THQ since it launched in late 2011, so much so...

The game features an anime-inspired visual style, a marked change from the more realistic look of the core Lost Planet games. A subsequent update from Andriasang reveals that the game follows Bren Turner, a young cadet who comes to finish his schooling at the academy on EDN-3rd. There are three...

BioWare is preparing to release another multiplayer DLC pack for Mass Effect 3, an accidental (and now-removed) posting on the Sony Asia website reveals. The information was snatched up by Kotaku and preserved for the gaming Internet to peruse… so peruse away. The DLC — which the removed web listing says is out as of today, May 16, 2012 — will add two new maps, three new weapons and six new classes to the game. If it’s anything like the previous Resurgence DLC pack, it’ll...

The Five Fundamentals of FIFA 13

Is FIFA 13 the “revolution” EA is making it out to be, or are we just in for a new set of tweaks? It is 11:05 AM. I am out of breath and covered in crumbs. Not just any crumbs, mind, but the crumbs of a Danish hastily eaten on a mad sprint to a meeting (there is nothing crumblier than a press-junket pastry). If sacrifices were to be made, though, eating a dignified breakfast was to be rightly one of them. For this was the grand unveiling of FIFA 13 and I was surrounded by the cream...

Battlefield Getting a Call of Duty Elite-Style Service Makes Perfect Sense

Posted by on May 14, 2012 | Leave a Comment

Downloadable content has been one of the most popular trends this generation. Last year Activision tried to find out if a market exists for a subscription service for a non-MMO with Call of Duty Elite. As the latest numbers peg Elite subscriptions — which cost $50 a year, or were free with Modern Warfare 3’s Hardened Edition — at 2 million, an audience does apparently exist that is willing to fork over money for more than just a la carte DLC. Electronic Arts is now rumored to...
