GameStop has shelved pre-orders for Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Patriots, igniting rumors that the game has been cancelled.
This doesn’t appear to be an error either, as IGN, citing a source “with intimate knowledge of the retailer” says that GameStop “actively flicked a switch” to remove the page.
Furthermore, IGN notes that it is “exceedingly rare” for the retailer to remove a game’s listing from its website, after having previously featured as...

Bloody hack-‘em-up Manhunt will be granted a European PlayStation Network release today, Rockstar has announced.
The game will be made available in all its uncut glory for £7.99, and follows hot on the heels of Manhunt’s North American PSN release a few weeks back.
The controversial title was originally released in 2003, and was banned in numerous countries. Manhunt places an emphasis on stealth kills, where the main protagonist must sneak through each stage executing gangsters...

Domains for The Last of Us 2 and 3 have been registered by Sony (via Superannuation), indicating the company may have more in store for the post-apocalyptic adventure.
This isn’t outright confirmation on future sequels though, as companies frequently register URLs pertaining to big-name franchises in order to protect the IP.
Naughty Dog had previously suggested that a sequel wasn’t on the cards during a chat with GameInformer. Here, the studio revealed its disdain for games that end...

Naughty Dog has remained tight-lipped on its planned multiplayer component for The Last of Us, but one thing is clear is that it has supreme confidence in the feature – so much so that it has said the game boasts the ‘best multiplayer ever conceived.’
The comments come via Tweet by Nate Wells, lead artist at Naughty Dog, who teased, “And I REALLY can’t prepare you for the best MP ever conceived.”
Quite what Naughty Dog has up its sleeves is a mystery, but consider...

Gamers will be able to play The Last of Us as it is downloaded from the PlayStation Store, developer Naughty Dog has confirmed to GameInformer.
Specifically, The Last of Us can be played after the download has hit the half-way mark, but that’s still a massive step-up from where we are today.
This feature was among one of the major selling points of the PlayStation 4 during its New York City reveal back in February. However, it is apparent now that Sony is already implementing it for PS3 games.
The...

From our latest hands-on with Naughty Dog’s hotly anticipated The Last of Us, it is abundantly clear that the Uncharted developer has successfully created a gripping action-adventure that is wholly distinct from the treasure-hunting, baddie-capping antics of Nathan Drake. And thank god for that, because The Last of Us is, by a country mile, shaping up to be one of the most compelling games you’ll play this year, let alone on Sony’s aging PlayStation 3.
Our latest hands-on with the...

Star Wars is one of the most expansive and revered science fiction universes ever created. So how has this amazing series fared in the video game industry? In all honesty, not so great. The history of Star Wars video games is a mixed bag of greatness and not-so-greatness. We’ve had the fortune of playing great Star Wars titles like X-Wing, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, and Empire at War. Unfortunately, for each great game that came out, there was another that was disappointing.
Below is a list...

Incredibly, against all odds, Agent–the Rockstar Games spy thriller announced in 2009 as a PS3 exclusive–is still in development, after long-standing rumors of cancellation or indefinite delay.
The last official word we heard of Agent was at E3 2011, when SCEA CEO Jack Tretton said he wasn’t sure if the game was still a PS3 exclusive. In the months and years since, the game has dropped completely off the map, being left out of everything from gaming conventions to Take-Two earnings...
