Warriors Orochi 3 Review

Posted by on Apr 05, 2012 | Leave a Comment

The Warriors games have always played fast and loose with history, but they’ve also been constrained by it. Omega Force’s decision to adhere to a certain degree of historical accuracy has meant that the game’s more fantastical elements have been kept in check. That all changed with the release of the first Warriors Orochi game, which brought characters from the Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors franchises together. Now the third in the series is here and the developer has really...

Fancy an Assassin’s Creed game set in World War II, ancient Egypt or feudal Japan? If that’s the case, then we suggest you don’t hold your breath; Ubisoft’s Alex Hutchinson feels they’re “boring” locations that he doesn’t particularly want the series to adopt. Speaking with the chaps at OXM U.K. in regards to whether Ubisoft considered alternate settings to Assassin’s Creed III’s American Revolution backdrop, creative director Hutchinson...

We check out the bizarre results of Idea Factory’s latest work.   Here’s a fun fact about Mugen Souls, a quirky little role-playing number from Idea Factory: the game was produced by an unnamed developer calling himself the new Keiji Inafune (that is, the Mega Man creator who left Capcom to form his own studio). The “new Keiji Inafune” stint was nothing more than a publicity stunt to get people turning their heads to the game. What’s even more surprising is that...

Avengers Pinball Abuses Physics

The next standalone table pack for Zen Studios’ Pinball FX is going all in. Avengers Chronicles, a new set of Marvel-themed boards, sacrifices reality for the sake of spectacle, and breaks many of the rules established previously. Rather than building an Avengers game around pinball like it normally would, Zen is building pinball around the Avengers. Watch World War Hulk smash. This is most apparent in the Infinity Gauntlet table, which attaches a unique mission for each of the gauntlet’s...
