Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) boss Jack Tretton has revealed he’s none too keen on the idea of next-gen consoles blocking the ability to play used games.
That’s at least according to Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter, who revealed Tretton’s stance on the blocking of used games in the latest episode of Bonus Round.
It is Tretton’s opinion that second-hand games are “great for consumers” and to remove the ability to play them would be an “anti-consumer”...

Sony has confirmed that shooter Red Faction II will be made available as a PS2 Classic on the U.S. PlayStation Store this week.
Originally released on PS2 and PC in 2001, Red Faction II takes place five years after the events of its predecessor, and utilizes an enhanced version of Volition’s Geo-Mod engine.
The sequel features an intricate storyline packed with multiple objectives, with gamers able to control a variety of vehicles while battling foes with the back-up of elite squad members....

Crystal Dynamics has announced that the launch of its upcoming Tomb Raider reboot has been delayed until Q1 2013.
Writing on the official Tomb Raider blog, Darrell Gallagher, studio head at Crystal Dynamics, said that the team wants to ensure the adventurer is as polished as possible before delivering it to retail.

Sniper Elite V2 has maintained its lead on the U.K. All Format Charts for a second week running.
The World War II stealth-based shooter held off both FIFA Street and FIFA 12, which had to settle for second and third place, respectively.
Elsewhere, PlayStation 3-exclusive actioner Starhawk debuted at 17, while claiming fifth place on the PS3 Charts.

The largest video game retailer out there, GameStop (AKA EBgames) will be removing PSP games from 25% of its North American stores.
"The consolidation is occurring to maximize the merchandising space in the smallest 25% of stores," said a GameStop representative to Kotaku. "It will also provide a greater assortment in those stores that will continue to carry the category."
