Say what you will about how overwhelmingly prevalent they are in PC gaming these days, I still love me some indie bundles. They allow for the cheap purchasing of some really awesome, often experimental indie games that you perhaps wouldn’t check out for a more inflated price, all while giving to a good cause. This time around, 100% of the money spent on the Indie Royale All-Charity Lightning Pack will be going to charity. Included in the pack are Osmos, B.U.T.T.O.N., The Shivah, and Blueberry...

Chances are good you picked up a copy of Blizzard’s latest productivity-killer, Diablo 3. Chances are even better you’ve resisted the urge of throwing your mouse out the window upon seeing the dreaded “Error 37″ message. And who can blame you? Many have waited 12 years to click the hours away, and now that Diablo 3 is finally here, Blizzard’s servers have denied players the right to decimate demons.
Between complaining on forums, Facebook, Twitter, and the internet...

I’m already a little baffled by The Secret World’s abilities system. Baffled in the best way possible, that is. It makes me want to dig into the 500 unique abilities and find exactly what works for me. Funcom’s upcoming MMO opens up all those abilities to allow players to find their favorite combination of skills. Whether it be Elemental Magic, shotguns, or brass knuckles, The Secret World allows for your particular combat fancy.
My only real concern is the interface that these...

The release date of Darksiders 2 has been announced by THQ. You’ll be able to play with Death as he journeys to save his brother’s name on August 14, 2012.
THQ has a lot riding on the success of Darksiders 2, as the company recently layed off a slew off employees and the company’s president took a 50 percent pay cut, signaling to investors a desire to be a lean, more focused company that puts out successful games.
THQ also announced that the game’s been pre-ordered...

Well, they’re all going to die anyway. At least, that’s the concept behind Dreadline, a new game coming from Eerie Canal, the new company featuring industry veterans Bryn Bennett and Steven Kimura, formerly of Irrational and Harmonix. There’s not much information about it yet, but we do know that it’s an action RPG where players take control of one of four monsters and go on a killing spree at points in time where everyone is going to die anyway, such as the sinking of the...

Oh yeah, that’s right. There are other games out there besides Diablo 3. To remind us of this, Stardock announced their next round of beta earlier today for their upcoming 4X space strategy Goliath, Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion. This time the Vasari Empire has been included in this latest beta which is exclusive to those who have pre-ordered Rebellion already.
Stardock Entertainment and Ironclad Games are pleased to announce the return of the Vasari Empire with the release of Sins of...

If the fantasy setting of that… other game that’s out this week isn’t really up your alley, Star Wars: The Old Republic is offering a free trial this weekend. From midnight CDT tonight to 2:00 a.m. on Monday, the sci-fi MMO will be open to all new players for download and play. Heck, you can even check it out when Diablo 3’s servers go down.
BioWare notes that this free trial is only for those who have not participated in past free events. For those who choose to pick SWTOR...

Celery makes for an awesome sound effects tool. The audio proof is delivered by the Dark Knight when he breaks criminals’ bones in Batman: Arkham City. Yup, they did that with celery. In honor of Batman’s upcoming GOTY edition, Rocksteady is providing a behind-the-scenes look at Arkham City’s development, and today we learn how the studio made the punches, capes, and snapped limbs sound so good.
Batman: Arkham City GOTY, featuring the new DLC adventure, Harley Quinn’s Revenge,...
