The cyberpunk flavor of Deus Ex: Human Revolution is going to Hollywood, with CBS Films confirming plans to produce a big screen adaptation of the 2011 game. Sinister director Scott Derrickson will take the helm, and he’s also developing the script in collaboration with his Sinister cohort C. Robert Cargill.
For those who haven’t seen it, Sinister is quite a solid little horror movie, with lots of creepy imagery and a very memorable antagonist. Deus Ex isn’t exactly a horror story,...

It’s a blurry photo of a projected image, but what you see above is the first publicly revealed screenshot from Dragon Age 3: Inquisition. BioWare art and animation director Neil Thompson shared the image during a talk at the Bradford Animation Festival, as reported by Eurogamer.
Thompson mentioned that the image reveal marks "the first time anyone has see a frame of [Dragon Age 3] outside BioWare studios." He also admitted later, in response to a Q&A query, that the proprietary...

The annual Call of Duty release for 2012 is in stores as of this week, but that hasn’t stopped one unnamed source from spilling some details about the 2013 edition of Activision’s popular FPS. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think this has happened before. Two games of the same generation have the exact same name. Xbox Live turns 10 this year and Microsoft appears to be celebrating by giving away special, anniversary-branded Xbox 360 consoles to those who have been around since the early days. There’s been no formal confirmation from Microsoft, but reports and photos from around the web offer pretty concrete evidence.
One Redditor claims to have received a phone call on October 22, 2012 about the 10th anniversary of Xbox Live, letting the user know that he’s "one of their most valued members."...

The NPD Group’s monthly games industry reports continue to be widely covered in the media, and it’s easy to understand why. With game publishers hesitant to make a habit of sharing sales figures, the NPDs, as they’re often called, supposedly give us somewhat of a glimpse as to which games are succeeding and which are failing. Criticisms of the NPD Group’s numbers have becoming increasingly common over time, to the point where the question is now being asked whether the media...
