A new comment from Sony suggests that digital copies of PSP games may be cheaper to download on Vita for customers who already own the physical game on UMD.
According to Andriasang, a Vita FAQ posted on Sony’s Japanese site says that the publisher is “looking into” offering PSP games at a special price for UMD owners.
The service sounds similar to the PSPgo Rewards Program that Sony announced in the UK in 2009.
Sony hasn’t officially announced the program for Vita, and it’s...

Update: According to Gamespot, the download limit has now been confirmed for North America.
Speaking at a GDC Online sponsored session yesterday, SCEA engineer Chris Norden revealed that North American PlayStation Vita owners will be limited to downloads of 20MB or less over 3G.
Norden added that Vita games will be between 2GB and 4GB, which means that full game downloads from the PlayStation Store will not be possible over 3G. Instead, the downloads must be performed over WiFi.

Since the PlayStation Network breach in April, which resulted in PSN being taken offline for the better part of a month, many users have been concerned each time the service goes down for maintenance out of fear it has been attacked once again. PSN isn’t down today, but if you find yourself locked out of your account, you may be one of the users whose account has been logged into by hackers.

It’s been a while since Level-5 let the public have a peek at Time Travelers, the 3DS adventure game penned by Jiro Ishii of 428 fame. Time Travelers is set in Tokyo circa 2031, a place where a lot seems to be happening all at once. 18 years previous,...

Don’t expect to see a localized version of Valkyria Chronicles III: Unrecorded Chronicles in North America or Europe anytime soon.
Sega’s Hiroshi Seno has revealed to GameSpot that the publisher has no plans to create an English version of the RPG for western markets. That’s thanks to the overall lack of popularity of the PlayStation Portable (which the second and third VC games were made for) in those regions and the poor sales of the second game.
Valkyria Chronicles II was...

One of the criticisms of the digital versions of PlayStation Portable games (particularly from PSP Go owners) has been that they are no cheaper than physical games despite the cheaper distribution costs involved with digital distribution. Worse than that is how PSN games oftentimes are more expensive, and that’s made worse by infrequent sales and price drops. Now that a handful of PlayStation Vita games have been priced in Japan, that could be less of a problem. That’s because, at least...

Update: Andriasang is now reporting that official Japanese pricing has been released for Uncharted: Golden Abyss, confirming that downloads will be cheaper than retail titles in Japan.
The game will cost 5,980 yen (roughly $77.00) at retail, while the downloadable version will cost 4,900 yen (roughly $63.00). Keep in mind that these games will likely be cheaper when they’re released in North America, though no official pricing has been announced.
This pricing scheme has currently only been...

The Valkyria Chronicles series was praised for its bold and fresh strategy role-playing games that were both beautiful to look at and fun to play.
