Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has revealed its local pre-order incentive for PS Vita, which launches in stores across Australia on February 23, 2012.

F1 2011 Confirmed for Vita Launch

Codemasters has announced that F1 2011 will launch alongside the PlayStation Vita when it’s released in February. The game will feature a full season, individual Grand Prix races and a Time Trial mode. It will also include a Challenge Mode that’s “perfect for portable play,” featuring objectives like reaching checkpoints, passing through gates and overtaking other racers.

PlayStation Network Going Down for Half a Day

If your plans for Thursday include being online on the PlayStation Network, you may want to start coming up with a backup plan now. Sony will be taking the service down for roughly 14 hours tomorrow.
Sony says this is merely for routine maintenance, though if that were the case, it’d be nice if it were scheduled to take place at night — PSN will be offline from 8am until 10pm Pacific (11am to 1am Eastern) on November 17.

Sony Reveals Vita Pre-Order Bonuses

Sony announced today that the PlayStation Vita will receive some awesome pre-order bonuses in Europe. In a post on the European PlayStation Blog, European product manager Adam Grant revealed two pre-order gift packs that will be available when the system launches in February.

Late last week, we got some great news for PSP owners distressed over the fact that PlayStation Vita can’t accommodate their UMD collections. Resistance’s Website Taken Offline Following Hacking

Not even a week after the official Steam forums were taken offline following their defacement, Sony has been forced to do the same with the official website and forums for the Resistance franchise.
MyResistance.net and the accompanying free-to-play Global Resistance game are currently inaccessible. According to Kotaku, Sony took them offline following reports of the site distributing malware, presumably at the behest of hackers.

Sony has announced a scheme that will allow users with a UMD collection to transfer their titles to the PlayStation Vita at a discounted cost.
