Earlier this week, reports indicated that each PlayStation Vita would only support one PSN ID, and that a factory reset would be required to swap accounts. Sony has now clarified, explaining that each account will be bonded to a memory card, not a system. Players who want to use multiple accounts will have the option of doing so, but each account will need to be bonded to its own card. A factory reset is only required if you want to use multiple accounts but only have one memory card. “Your...

ModNation Racers: Bring on the Vita

I didn’t play ModNation Racers enough. When it first came out, it had everything I could have wanted in a kart racer: fun driving, customizable karts, and a ton of creation tools for building my own tracks. But after a day of discouragement racing a vicious rival in story mode, I walked away. I had the intention of coming back, but I never did. ModNation Racers: Road Trip feels like a second chance. The easy, rewarding driving returns, along with all the creation modes from the original. These...

When I first heard that Sound Shapes, a PlayStation Vita exclusive, came from the minds behind Everyday Shooter, my expectations for it immediately changed. Everyday Shooter merged music and visuals together in the same way Rez did before it. Sound Shapes fully embraces its musical roots, fusing the act of jumping through a world directly into the topography of a song. And Sound Shapes comes equipped with a full set of tools that deliver some of the most intuitive music creation I’ve seen in...

Imagine watching a horror film. Its atmosphere and violence tug at your gut, inciting unease over the brutal suffering of characters you’ve grown to love. As you sit, perched on the edge of your chair, the hero stumbles down a hallway running from certain death that claws at his feet. At the last moment, just when he hopes to escape, he dies. A grisly death. But he wasn’t supposed to die at that particular point in the film. So you rewind the movie and re-watch the last 20 minutes leading...

Earlier this week, GameStop revealed Sony’s pricing plan for its proprietary Vita memory cards. In response to negative reactions from fans, Sony Division 2 software development head Muneki Shimada has spoken out in a new interview about Sony’s decision to use proprietary memory, and what it provides over traditional storage solutions.
