Ghost Recon: Future Soldier spawn killers beware!

Posted by on Apr 18, 2012 | Leave a Comment

One of the most frustrating aspects of playing any online multiplayer shooter is trying to deal with the spawn campers. Those strategically-inept individuals, who park up by your spawn point and wait for you to walk around the corner before taking you down, can be an absolute pain in the ass. In the original Ghost Recon spawn camping was rife, but as the series has developed Red Storm Entertainment has advanced its system to try and tackle the problem. In Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, the French developer...

Darksiders 2 has been delayed. According to THQ, the sequel to Darksiders needed more development time in order to keep it as polished as possible. You’ll be able to play with Death as he journeys to save his brother’s name on _______.  THQ has a lot riding on the success of Darksiders 2, as the company recently layed off a slew off employees and the company’s president took a 50 percent pay cut, signaling to investors a desire to be a lean, more focused company that puts...

Ridge Racer Review (PS Vita)

Posted by on Apr 17, 2012 | Leave a Comment

Ridge Racer has been a title that’s graced console launches since the original PlayStation, but this installment didn’t come out until a month after the First Edition PlayStation Vitas released. I’d also care to wager that long-time gamers know the potential danger behind a delayed release: the game will either be improved or terrible. The fellows at Cellius delayed the game release a couple weeks for a reason, but was that reason a good one or a bad one? Ridge Racer features a...

Every Tuesday, Sony drops a bunch of new stuff onto the PlayStation Network. Those with a PlayStataion 3, Vita or PSP can download these goodies, which include PSN games, movies, themes and more. While the Official PlayStation Blog outlines these updates in full each week, we thought we’d help truncate the good news into something more digestible. PSN Games Here’s a lone new PSN game to download, as well as two digital retail titles. Do you like to Move? Dead Rising 2: Off the Record...

In case you were unaware, the Penny Arcade Expo (both "Prime" and "East") is not only a haven for video, tabletop, and card games; it’s a fantastic place to see some of the coolest cosplay out there. However, not everyone can make it to Boston (or Seattle) every year to witness the marvel: people of all shapes and sizes dressing as their favorite video game, comic book, or even movie characters. So that’s why we thought it was extra important to snap some...

Dead Space 3 Outed by Retailer?

Posted by on Apr 17, 2012 | Leave a Comment

New evidence of Dead Space 3 has appeared. The existence of the game was first revealed by an Israeli news show and reports claimed to provide the first details last fall. Now, South African retailer BT Games has begun to accept pre-orders for the game. EA has never officially announced Dead Space 3, though job listings that surfaced last year seemed to suggest that the project is in development. Previously, the publisher discussed expanding Dead Space into a trilogy and EA president Frank Gibeau...

Call of Duty’s Lackluster March Isn’t Indicative of Much

Posted by on Apr 17, 2012 | Leave a Comment

Generally speaking, the videogame industry sees the sale of games come primarily at launch before quickly tapering out. Nintendo games and Call of Duty games are some of the few exceptions to this. Whereas even many big titles will disappear from the NPD sales charts within a few months of launch, the latest Call of Duty traditionally has a long stay at the top before sticking around in the top ten long after when the majority of games would have fallen off. Modern Warfare 3 has yet to drop out...

Tweaking the Gameplay of NCAA Football 13

Posted by on Apr 17, 2012 | Leave a Comment

It’s always easy to write off an annual sports game by saying — “It’s just the same thing as last year.” As always, EA is looking to keep you from uttering that; this time with NCAA Football 13. You already know about what developer Tiburon is bringing to make the game feel more like college football, but now it’s time to talk about what NCAA 13 is doing to play more like college football. Not too shabby, right? The developers said they’re really focusing...
