The in-game graphics in Tony Hawk: RIDE have a strange, gritty feel to them, especially in the menus, where it seems that RIDE sought to create its own personal “urban graffiti” style, primarily by overuse of “color burn” filters (for those familiar with Photoshop). It’s that time again; time for the King of Iron Fist tournament, as Namco/Bandai’s Tekken 6 hits the ground rolling. The graphics have been tweaked from Tekken 5, making this the most beautiful installment in the series yet, with dynamic lighting features such as sun-shaft, glare and flare, along with depth of field effects and new shading systems that heighten the sense of realism.

Band Hero is recognizable at a glance as being part of the Guitar Hero series of games. It has the same cartoon style and, for that matter, all of the familiar Guitar Hero characters, such as Lars Umlaut, Judy Nails and Izzy Sparks. Wow. PlayStation 2. It’s been a while since I’ve played a game on the PS2, proper. When my (late) original PS3 was still with us, I would play PS2 games on it and at least smooth out the graphics a bit.
