G-Force Review

September 3, 2009 – Something has gone horribly wrong. Toasters are burning people instead of bread. Paper shredders and fans alike have become horribly evil. Who are you going to call? Ghost Bus-, wait, scratch that. G-Force is a game based on the recent Disney movie of the same name. This premise is this: something has gone horribly awry, every appliance that has been built by the Saber company has become blood thirsty and is out to destroy any living thing, be it human or animal. That’s...

PS2 Game: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Compared to other CGI movies, Ice Age has always had a more stylized look, a trait that works in favor of the PS2. Although the system isn’t able to match the look of the movie quite as well as the PS3, it gets really close. Since the movies aren’t trying to present “reality,” the game can get away with flat textures and angular characters and still manage to look similar to the movies. All of the movie’s characters are present and while some use voice stand-ins instead...

PS2 Game: Secret Agent Clank

Everyone’s favorite robotic sidekick is starring in his very own adventure (no, not Bender!) Clank takes the forefront in Secret Agent Clank. Known for their Pixar approach to game making, the Ratchet and Clank series has always walked the line between being a game for kids while still enjoyable to adults. It seems Secret Agent Clank has changed allegiance and targeted just the kiddies in this PSP to PS2 port of a decent spy game. First, Secret Agent Clank does not look nearly as good as other...

PS2 Game: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunohavs. King Abaddon

Atlus is developing a thing for long titles, at least when it comes to Shin Megami Tensei(SMT) spin-off titles. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon is the sequel to the cult favorite (and equally long-winded) Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Souless Army. Though it isn’t much of an advancement over the original game, it is still a solid offering. It’s no surprise that the PS2 is starting to show its age, at least when it comes...

PS2 Game: X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Posted by on May 13, 2009 | Leave a Comment

Ok, so I know I have probably become a bit jaded since I play the PS3 and rarely play a PS2 title. However, X-Men Origins: Wolverine just doesn’t look good. The characters are pretty blocky and the areas just don’t shine. That being said, Wolverine and Sabretooth do look a lot like their on-screen counterparts, but overall, the game could just look better. In this day and age, when most everyone has moved on to next-gen systems, if you are making a PS2 game, it better look damn good....
