I just finished Risen 2: Dark Waters this week, and left with a better impression than I would have when I first began playing it. There are still some issues Piranha Bytes is working out (at least in the PC version), but the strengths of this piratical adventure through Risen’s fantasy world outweighed them.

The Walking Dead: Episode 1 – A New Day kicks off a five-part episodic game taking place in Robert Kirkman’s zombie apocalypse universe. Unlike the TV series though, this game doesn’t follow Rick, Shane and the other main characters from the comics. Instead, Telltale Games introduces fans to a new group of core characters, but makes a habit of bringing in some familiar ones when it’s appropriate and doesn’t contradict the comic’s series of events.

Battlefield 3 PC Double XP Weekend Delayed

Yep, even in-game events are not immune to the delays that we’ve come to expect as PC gamers. While the internet initially listed this weekend as Battlefield 3’s first Double XP event for all platforms, the dates have now shifted for those playing on PC: we’ll instead be playing on May 26th and 27th.

Cyanide, the studio behind the game adaptation of the colossal Game of Thrones franchise, has released a video that looks “Behind The Wall” of the RPG’s development. Despite a reputation for high adventure, a day in the life of the average Caribbean pirate must have been dreadfully dull, with long stretches at sea and nothing but scurvy to occupy them.
