Diablo 3 Monk Class Spotlight

I dig the Monks from Diablo 3’s universe. There are no annoying vows of silence or poverty. Feel free to yell taunts at your enemies and then fill your robes with the loot that springs from their dead bodies! Best, Blizzard lets you get right down to what real monks do best (and by real, I mean the fictional monks from kung-fu movies): kick ass with your fists and feet. Yes, it’s time to spotlight the weapon of righteousness, the Diablo 3 Monk.  Read More →

Mother Nature has taken back the plot of land we like to call New York City in Crysis 3, and the first screens for Crytek’s upcoming shooter indicate this true urban jungle will, at the very least, be a visual treat to explore. Get a peek at the 5th Avenue Rainforest, the Midtown Grassland, and more below (click all to enlargenize): The breakdown on the NYC jungle from Crytek: New York City lies in ruin. Skyscrapers once thought to be timeless monuments crumble and give way to vines....

Star Wars: The Old Republic Legacy Update Brings Rakghoul World Event

Posted by on Apr 16, 2012 | Leave a Comment

The Star Wars: The Old Republic 1.2 update carried a virus. Dont’ worry, you don’t need to remove the MMO from your hard drive and send a nasty letter to EA. On the contrary, you should jump into SWTOR immediately. A surprise, rapidly growing world event tied to a virus on Tatooine is causing the zombie-like Rakghoul apocalypse. Sure, Rakghouls are found in the two new Flashpoints in SWTOR’s Legacy update, but this is something else entirely: a world event. A news broadcast yesterday...

Welcome to the jungle, the urban jungle of New York City turned jungle, jungle, in Crysis 3. Yes, Crysis 3 is real, EA announced this morning (with a grumble, I imagine, after the game leaked on Origin last week), and while it will once again be set in NYC, the alien infested, CELL corrupted city will look very much like the jungle settings from the original Crysis. Promising “unparalleled visuals” courtesy of CryEngine 3, EA says Crysis 3 will offer “the premier sandbox shooter...

The original game is a third-person action title built...

Family Guy might not be the first franchise you’d expect an MMO to spring from, but the creators of Family Guy Online — which launches its open beta on Tuesday, April 17th — said it actually came about pretty organically to them. As Gary Rosenfeld (SVP of Interactive Games, Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Producers) explained, the aim with Family Guy Online was to make it, “Accessible for casual gamers but deep enough for core gamers.” He added, “The decision...

The Internet has decided that it needs to recreate literally everything in Minecraft, and I couldn’t be happier about it. The most recent thing checked off the collective list? Ever popular Warcraft 3 mod DOTA. Check out the trailer below. For a player created mod, its features are quite robust. There’s functioning towers, creeping monsters, shops, and ally creatures. Everyone loves Minecraft, and DOTA isn’t exactly hated, so let’s get out there and whack some zombies. It...

PC Game: Yesterday

Posted by on Apr 15, 2012 | Leave a Comment

Yesterday, like Pendulo Studios’ previous titles, is an artful blend of animated 3D characters and painted backdrops, but unlike those older titles like the Runaway trilogy and The Next BIG Thing, this is a dark story, both in mood and humor. While Yesterday is a darker title, it is still a visually appealing game. Not only are the various environments gloomier and drearier, but it dares to go into locations that other Pendulo titles haven’t ventured, not to mention deal with themes...
