The next major event in Guild Wars 2 is Wintersday, something that many players are looking forward to checking out. TERA: ’Slay’ Bells Ring

En Masse Entertainment has laid out the details for its "Santa's Slay" event in TERA. During the event, players are charged with hunting down and defeating Santas all across the game world. By so doing, they will earn the chance to win some nifty prizes. From December 14 to January 2, you can seek out Fat Santas and Tiny Santas across the world of TERA. Silkroad Online: ’Roc’-ing the House on December 18th

Silkroad Online players are being invited to a special event to celebrate the second phase of the overhauled game client. On December 18th, a roc will be summoned to one of two starter areas for players to defeat within a certain amount of time setting up the summoning of a second and, ultimately, a trio of bosses. Roc Time Attack will offer players a variety of cool prizes including epic drop items featuring diverse weapons and armor!  Both Rocs will also drop between 1 to 2 special Subscription... 

City of Steam: New Dev Journal Details GUI Overhaul

The latest City of Steam developer blog lays out the details about recent changes to the user interface. The GUI has been retooled, overhauled and refitted into the current beta version of the game. We liked the basic concept of this configuration, but our GUI (phonetically “gooey” but it shouldn’t be as sticky) designer said that he had a plan to make it better! The current one was a little thick and sometimes got in the way of other UI elements, so our designer took on the quest...

Rift: Dev Team Rocked By Layoffs

Gamasutra is reporting that several affected persons have been in contact indicating that Trion Worlds is undergoing "staff reductions". Most notably, sources indicate that the Rift team has been hit hard. An affected source tells us that the number of developers out of work today — developers spanning several disciplines, including artists and designers — numbers somewhere in the neighborhood of 40. Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Slippery Slope of SWTOR

Is BioWare on a slippery slope with their Cartel Market in Star Wars: The Old Republic? We weigh in with our thoughts in this week's SWTOR column. In Game Update 1.6 in particular, the Cartel Market now features Level 50 ship equipment that when purchased will allow players to essentially jump right into the new Heroic space missions. It’s true, the Market has offered gear for some time now, but the gear on offer is either adaptive gear without any stats, or gear with pre-endgame stats...
