Netmarble has announced a promotional event for new players to Uncharted Waters Online. Novice sailors will receive a gift package that includes basic water and food, a Sailing and Surveying Skill Handbook, Anti-Natural Disaster Item, Fishing Skill, LifeSavers and more. In addition, more packages can be earned for leveling up during the promotion's month long event.

Blizzard has announced that it is currently working on a fully localized Italian version of World of Warcraft. The Italian version of the game will be available later this year and will join English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese as fully translated versions of WoW.

Aion: EU F2P Launch February 28th

Gameforge has announced that the free to play EU version of Aion will officially launch on February 28th. The German, French and English versions of Aion will launch simultaneously.
Current subscribers to Aion EU who log into the game between now and February 27th will receive six Aion Coins (in-game currency) per day. Aion Coins can be spent in the item mall.
Gameforge has also indicated that version 3.0 will arrive "later in the spring".

EVE Online: $66M in Revenue & a Possible IPO in the Future

CCP Games has announced that EVE Online generated approximately $66M in revenue in 2011 and is anticipating that 2012 will exceed its predecessor. In addition, CCP revealed that EVE sports an impressive 400,000 subscribers and that the company, based on 2012 revenues, will be considering a public stock release at some point in the future.

In a new study conducted by North Carolina State University, researchers have discovered that World of Warcraft can give senior citizens a brain boost by improving spatial awareness, memory and help them to better focus their attention.
