In celebration of the fast-approaching launch of Kid Icarus Uprising for the 3DS, Nintendo of America is hosting a series of multiplayer tournaments beginning March 8. These will culminate in a national championship event in New York on March 22.

Pokemon White Version 2 and Pokemon Black Version 2 are both headed to Nintendo DS handhelds in North America sometime before the end of 2012, a morning press release from Nintendo confirms. This comes on the heels of a Japan reveal over the weekend on the TV series Pokemon Smash.

According to GimmeGimmeGames, Square-Enix’s French store published a release date of Friday, July 27th, 2012 for Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, the next episode in the Square-Disney crossover series. This was hastily replaced by the more indeterminate “summer 2012″.

UPDATE: In a surprising development, it seems that the “third” entry in the fifth generation of Pokemon games will actually be two separate titles, releasing simultaneously. As mentioned below, they will be called Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 and they will release in Japan this June. That Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is great isn’t subject to much debate. As the third modern Metal Gear title, this Cold War era stealth/action adventure was well-received upon its release, and even improved with a refined version a year later.
