We had a sneaking suspicion that Call of Juarez: The Cartel, a game based on the modern-day gang violence plaguing Mexico, would run into controversy. It’s starting even earlier than expected, though, as MSNBC reports that Mexican officials are asking federal authorities to ban the game. State legislators in Chihuahua, where Ciudad Juarez is actually located, unanimously approved a request for the Mexican Interior Department to ban the game. The violence in Juarez has escalated...

Choice and consequence permeated both the...

THQ and Volition announced release dates for Red Faction Armageddon today, sounding significantly more sane than cult groups who babble about release dates for actual Armageddon. The Red Faction variety is set to hit PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on May 31 for North America, and June 3 internationally. Homefront Preview: The First Three Chapters

Posted by on Feb 21, 2011 | Leave a Comment

Warning: This preview contains spoilers for the first three chapters of Homefront. Watching the lifeless bodies of American civilians being unceremoniously pushed into ditches that serve as makeshift graves it hits me: Homefront’s developers want to make me mad. The first time I saw Homefront’s single-player mode, I was told that the developers involved wanted players to feel like using a weapon as soon as they got their hands on one. Morbid as that might sound, I presume...
