Publisher Black Bean Games has lifted the wraps off SBK Generations, confirming the Motorbike racer for a May 2012 launch on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
Developed by Milestone Studios, SBK Generations has been cobbled together with feedback in mind from critics and gamers alike, and promises to set ‘a new standard in the bike racing genre.’

CCP confirms Dust 514 is free-to-play title

Developer CCP has confirmed that its forthcoming PlayStation 3 MMO FPS Dust 514 will be free to download and play.
The game, set in the Eve Online universe, was originally supposed to come with a $10-$20 “cover charge,” though these plans have now been shelved.
"It was a relatively confusing proposition, and we wanted to make it unambiguous that this is a free-to-play game," said executive producer Brandon Laurino, during a chat with Eurogamer.

THQ has confirmed that Darksider II will feature a score crafted by the BAFTA award-winning composer Jesper Kyd.
Kyd, who is perhaps best known among gamers for his work on Assassin’s Creed and Hitman, has cobbled together an emotionally-charged soundtrack that “combines dark ethereal themes and melodic fantasy that enrich the player’s cinematic journey.”

New DC Universe Online DLC dated

The next batch of downloadable content for DC Universe Online, Battle for Earth, will be up for grabs on PlayStation 3 and PC on March 13.
According to PC Gamer, the DLC will include the new Earth Powers set in addition to a raid to protect Wonder Woman’s island of Themyscira.
The raid will feature appearances by mythical creatures including Cyclops, Hydra and Colossus, plus Chimeric Brainiacs.

Fresh evidence pointing to a new entry in the Army of Two franchise has surfaced on actor Joe Flanigan’s Twitter page.
“Just signed on to do the new AO4 video game for Electronic Arts,” wrote Flanigan, prompting speculation that the game in question is none other than Army of Four.

Capcom has been working on a new entry in cult beat-‘em-up franchise Darkstalkers since last year, according to Internet reports.
VentureBeat got the scoop from an inside source, which claims Darkstalkers 4 is indeed in development with Street Fighter IV overlord Yoshinori Ono at the helm.
According to the site, the new game will utilize a modified version of Street Fighter x Tekken’s game engine, with Ono-san having started work on the project after wrapping up SF x Tekken in late 2011.

[UPDATE] PlayStation Network maintenance rescheduled for Sunday

We reported earlier this week that Thursday’s maintenance was going to be postponed, but Sony has now rescheduled that maintenance for tomorrow, March 4.
The network will go down around noon Pacific Time on Sunday and the maintenance will continue until 2 am the following day. All users who are offline won’t be able to sign in, and everyone signed in will be automatically signed out and unable to sign back in until the maintenance is complete.
