Last year, EA and Activision went toe-to-toe with Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 respectively. Not only were both games critically-acclaimed, they also met with commercial success as well. This year, however, EA hasn’t matched their next Battlefield game – which we’re uncertain will even hit this year – against Activision’s recently-announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Instead, stepping up to plate as EA’s prime first-person shooter for 2012 is...

Eightarc Fusion Joystick Review

During the past few years we’ve seen a couple different brands of fightsticks pop up, most notably, the Mad Catz TE sticks. Newcomer to the scene — at least in the US — is Eightarc; they’ve partnered with Chinese manufacturer Quanba to bring high quality, premium sticks to the forefront. Quanba has been generous enough to ship an Eightarc Fusion stick for us to review. The Fusion is a fantastic piece of hardware; calling it elegant would be an understatement. Just from looking...

There are some great games coming out later this year, but it’s going to be hard to top Borderlands 2. That’s the feeling I got after spending about 90 minutes with the game yesterday and chatting with some of the guys working on the follow-up to the hit 2009 Borderlands. It was about 30 minutes into my hands-on time with Borderlands 2 that I started to notice some of the most meaningful changes and additions to Gearbox’s expansive and highly addicting co-op shooter-RPG. Maybe...

Sequels are part and parcel of any console cycle, and this current generation is no exception to the rule. Whether it’s expanding on gaming’s tent pole franchises from yesteryear or capitalizing on the success of fresh IP, some of the biggest entertainment launches of this cycle have been front full-fledged blockbuster follow-ups like Halo Reach, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and most notably, Call of Duty. Let’s face facts: sequels make big bucks, and punters lap them up on every...
