Critically acclaimed BioWare RPG Mass Effect 3 has topped the U.S. software charts for the month of March 2012, the latest NPD data has confirmed.
The sci-fi sequel moved double the amount of copies in its opening month than its predecessor managed to achieve back in January 2010.
Of course, Mass Effect 3 launched on three platforms simultaneously, while Mass Effect 2 was originally released on PC and Xbox 360 only.
Apparently, Microsoft’s machine took the lion’s share of sales, with...

One of our highlights from PAX East last weekend was NetherRealm’s upcoming Vita version of Mortal Kombat. We had the chance to speak to Associate Designer on the project, Derek Kirtzic, as he gave us an in-depth tour of the game running on Sony’s new handheld.
First, we tried out the new mini-games added for the Vita version that make use of the touch screen and gyroscope controls. Mortal Kombat’s take on Fruit Ninja was actually pretty entertaining; replace all that fruit and...

Sony has posted another update this month for its handheld PlayStation Vita.
Update 1.65 allowed for a ten-minute delay for screen shutdown and to turn off the PS Button notification, and that update went live April 2. Then, on April 4, Sony released update 1.66 because of a "technical fault" with 1.65, and it also enabled PlayStation Minis to be played on Vitas with an activated PlayStation Plus account.
Now 1.67 is live, and it doesn’t add anything outside of fixing a camera issue...

Headshot after headshot, frag after frag, you go above and beyond, decimating the other team. This is probably the best match you’ve had in a long time, and you wish that other people were sitting right next to you watching your skills translate to leaderboard domination. The sad part? No...

At PAX East 2012 last weekend, we had the opportunity to go toe-to-toe with Goichi Suda (a.k.a. Suda 51), studio head at Grasshopper in Japan, after our hands-on demo of Lollipop Chainsaw. If you read our preview (coming soon), you’ll know that the game… piqued my curiosity, to say the least.
Naturally, we were curious about what the ideas and influences were behind the game. It’s not every day that you see a blonde, chainsaw-wielding cheerleader fight hordes of zombies with her...

The fellows at the PlayStation Blog released the news that the physics-driven game StarDrone Extreme is coming to the PlayStation Vita.
StarDrone is already on the PlayStation 3, and this new-and-improved version for the PS Vita will have enhanced visuals, streamlined controls with the touchscreens, and cross-play functionality, so players can take the saves from their PS3s and play StarDrone on their PS Vitas.
Being an early adopter of the PS Vita, I’m glad to see more and more varied types...
